Outside Information for 8189 Jackson River Road
A
black topped driveway leads past the Cedar and Poplar trees to the house
and parking area. The backyard is totally fenced in, so if you have a dog,
this
is definitely
a
plus. The
front yard
has many old trees including a Slippery Elm, a Willow and a Catalpa. We've
added newer shrubs and trees as well.
Two of the storage buildings are near the house. The largest one, 14' x 32' is behind the house farther away. This building is currently being used for wood storage, but would make a wonderful workshop or tack room depending on the needs of the new owners.
The
field and wooded areas that Bill mows are being accomplished by the use of
a DR
Field and Brush Mower. This and a Bolens
Chipper are also available to purchase with the property
We have added English Cottage Gardens at the front, sides and along the fence in the backyard. We've also added roses and many perennials on the property. We have many old fashioned plants including Yuccas (called rock lilies by the local residents) and Dames Rockets that come up everywhere along with other wildflowers in the spring. We've also added several shrub and climbing roses and some tea roses.
We
have a small garden area that includes thornless blackberries and strawberries.
There
are
black
raspberries
and
grapes on
the property as well. We planted an antique apple tree four years ago.
And this year our three blueberries (early-mniddle-late) are producing well.
Our property is conveniently located in Allegheny County (a mile inside the line from Bath County) nine miles from Hot Springs and 13 from Covington. We are three miles from the Lower Cascades Golf Course and four miles from Lake Moomaw. We have a wonderful country atmosphere, but we're not far from anywhere. It takes just a few minutes to get to I64.
You
can see from the neighbor's field that we have many trees on our property
affording a great degree of privacy.
